Abuse

Abuse can come in many different forms. It can be physical, sexual, emotional, spiritual, isolating, teasing, and more. Abuse can shatter the strongest soul and cause someone to experience grief years after a traumatic event. Most victims can even truly love their abusers, as most of the time its someone close to them, and even if they aren't that close with their abuser, an emotional tie can develop.

However, I'm here to proclaim-- JESUS WILL BREAK THAT TIE... THAT EMOTIONAL, SPIRITUAL, PHYSICAL, SEXUAL, ISOLATING, TEASING, CONFUSING TIE!!!!

Here is some proof:

Psalm 11:5
The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.

2 Timothy 3: 1-8

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. ...

“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 18:10

Proverbs 6:16-19

There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.

Psalm 146:7

Who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free

Isaiah 1:17

Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause.

Psalm 103:6 The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.

Jesus Himself taught not to fear those who can destroy the body, but the One who is able to destroy the soul.  However, though God (Jesus Christ in the flesh was referring to Himself in the above soul/body scenario) is a righteous judge, you must never forget His judgements in light of His love, willingness to see repentance, compassion mercy, and measurement. For example, an eye for an eye or a tooth for a tooth. This was God's law before Jesus showed us the New Covenant. God's punishment was measured according to offenses.

Did you catch that Psalm? Psalm 103:6 The Lord works righteousness and justice for ALL who are oppressed. I believe the ALL and the Bible.

As someone who might even be a prisoner from actually being the abuser themselves, its important to realize God's mercy for you Hebrews 9:26 says Jesus ABOLISHED SIN at the cross. You might feel unforgivable, but God died for you and shed His own righteous blood - that nothing in all creation can conquer-

Otherwise, Christ would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But now He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself...

Christ put away all sin at the cross. Whoever believes in Him and comes to Him is not separated through any sin, unforgivable or not, because He alone had the victory over Hades (hell in english translations) Sin, and Death.. I laugh when people say death conquers Christ. FALSE

Christ Conquered Death.

Start walking in Freedom. Start realizing God is not stopped by anything. No power overcomes His love for you. As a victim, this is important.

Meditate on these scriptures. Print them out on your wall. Pull up a verse on google images and have a nice picture to view while meditating on scripture only.

Realize Jesus is the overseer of your soul. No abuser stands in that place next to God. It can seem that way at times, like God loves them more than you. Like they must matter or have more authority than you. FALSE. 1, I repeat ONE is the judge and creator of you. No man stands in that place. Start seeking God's heart and healing for abuse.

Start seeing God's love and corrective punishment in scripture and his fairness in justice.
Quit thinking God is the monster. This is a false view of God.

As a famous abuse survivor quoted- my wording, ..." A person, male or female, can torment your body. They can sever your heart and emotions and will. However, they can never grab a hold of your spirit. God is the Father of all spirits. No human has that authority over another's spirit. Only God my child.  Hebrews 12:9 Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn't we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever?

Your Father God, who is Jesus Christ, walked through your death. He took your punishment and sentence. Walk with Him and live. He has defeated death, it never was able to beat Him.

This is a loving Father. Walking in death with you, side by side, taking your pain, so you don't have to suffer.

You can't have the New Testament without the Old. See God's heart in the Old Testament. Even in His wrath, he desired repentance. Many times his justice was due to people groups slaughtering one another, sexually abusing one another, throwing children into fire, wanting to rape anything that moved. Have you realized that? He had to stop the evil. He did not sit there and torment the abusers on earth. He had swift judgement and justice that stopped and brought death to the EVIL for the oppressed and even the oppressors. He will not tolerate abuse.

May God bless you and I on our journey of seeking His heart more and more in scripture daily.
